a little more inspiration

For this past Christmas, M bought me this:
Photobucket

Not surprisingly, it was my blog reading obsession that led me to lust over DSLR cameras for the past 6 months.
I was so lucky last summer to stumble upon Enjoying the Small Things, and Kelle Hampton continues to inspire me with each new post. Probably the biggest impact finding her blog has had on me was falling in love with her photos. She captures her everyday life so beautifully and makes amazing photobooks for her kids and I envy her photography skills.

So, I decided that I needed a big, fancy camera asap so that I could learn how to take amazing pictures before my future little ones come along, so that by then I can maybe be half as good of a photographer as Kelle. I can only hope.

And while I'm practicing and sharpening my photography skills, what a better way to share the hundreds of random pictures I plan to start taking each day (starting today!) than here. Thus, a little more inspiration for starting my new blog.

ps. Although my fancy new camera does have lots of tricks, it sadly cannot take a picture of itself (without a mirror I suppose). Enter the trusty iphone (and the terrible picture quality).

I have mixed feelings about having started my own blog.
Let me start by saying I am totally obsessed with reading blogs. Like really, it's ridiculous. I don't even want to admit the number I follow on a regular basis (and by follow I mean check obsessively, anxiously awaiting a new post). Sad, I know.

To understand my blog obsession, a little background story would be helpful. Since probably before I was walking I've been dreaming about my future: planning my wedding, naming my babies, decorating my first home, etc. Now I've heard this is semi-normal for little girls, but I'd say I may take it to an extreme (which will be totally evident in later posts, don't worry). Well, then I found blogs, and it was like I get to live vicariously through these women by hearing about every aspect of their families' lives. And seeing adorable pictures of their children/homes and hearing about their daily lives of course only led to me amping up my plans for my future grown up life with all the new cute ideas and things I must now include. And so I fell in love with blogs.

Back to my mixed feelings. As I read all these blogs, it just made me so much more excited for my future as a grown up when I'd get to start my very own! Oh how I look forward to posting beautiful, amazing pictures of my little ones and blogging about our hectic days that include cheer/soccer/karate/ballet class, multiple birthday parties, and the weekly date night.
Then the idea popped into my head that maybe I don't have to wait, perhaps my life is interesting enough that I can find something (anything) to write about every few days and post it on here to share it with the world? I guess we shall see.
